How Sigma DRM Works?

It only takes you a few minutes to protect your digital content.

The process consists of 3 main stages.

Transcoder

This process performs the format conversion and adjustment of the original multimedia file's specifications. For example, adjust the resolution, codec, bitrate and other parameters. The goal of this process is to ensure that the content is playable on a variety of devices with optimal quality so that users can experience the content smoothly, tailored to each individual's needs and capabilities of device.

Packager

Content is encrypted to protect and ensure copyright safety. The packager sends an Ingestion key request to the Server license to obtain the secret key for the encryption process. Note, this key is stored for future licensing.

Stream packaging: Encrypted content is packaged into formats suitable for online transmission, including MPEG-DASH, HLS and Smooth Streaming.

Authentication

The packaged stream is labeled to distinguish quality versions. These segments are delivered over the CDN network to the user's device and processed by the player. The player sends an issuance request to the license Server for authentication and receives the license containing the secret key to decrypt the encrypted content. This process involves the authentication system (Authentication) to check the right to issue licenses to users.
